Last night I went up to the cities and I bought a Canon Rebel XSi. I LOVE it thus far. I bought it from a the guy who films all of comcasts commercials. I've taken a couple of pictures with it and they have turned out AMAZING. They have such rich color. The best feature about the camera is the massive 3" LCD in the back to view your images.

Maybe mom was wrong?

We all used to do it. I remember growing up and getting in trouble for using foul language while we were out in public. However a new study from NeuroReport found that people who swear can actually withstand more pain then people who do not.

The study, published today in the journal NeuroReport, measured how long college students could keep their hands immersed in cold water. During the chilly exercise, they could repeat an expletive of their choice or chant a neutral word. When swearing, the 67 student volunteers reported less pain and on average endured about 40 seconds longer.

I find this study interesting because when I hurt myself trying to do something beyond my ability I often mutter words to myself and it really does seem to help.

On Tuesday we took my dad out for fathers day to a twins game vs. the Pirates. I had a great time when the twins won 8-2. Next week I get to go to another twins game vs the Brewers at Miller Park. I'm also excited about that game

Today I officially became a student at UWEC. I had orientation and registration. I also got the worst looking student ID picture. It's even worse than my La Crosse ID

Brown Bagging It

Today Lifehacker had an article about how to spice up a brown bag lunch. Although I don't brown bag a meal to work, I have started to ride my bike there whenever possible. It doesn't really take much to get up a half hour earlier and leave my house a little bit earlier to get there on time. It almost feels better to get up and get something done before I get to work. This has helped me save some money: I still have about 1/4 of a tank of $1.89 gas in my car.
As for the brown bag part, I think that if I didn't work at a food store where I can get a hamburger for around a dollar for lunch I would bring my own lunch more.
